Communication behavior of the farmers refers to the degree to which a farmer exposes himself to various information sources communicating livestock technology, the extent to which he processes the information so received and the extent to which he uses or passes on the information so received to others. Communication behavior of livestock farmers may be operationally defined as the outcome of different dimensions such as information input, information processing and information output.Information input refers to all the activities performed by an individual for acquiring scientific livestock farming information from various sources and channels. Information processing refers to all the activities performed by an individual for evaluation, storage/preservation and transformation of scientific and technical information related to livestock technology. Information output operationalized as composite of knowledge and adoption of individual livestock farmers with regards to scientificlivestock farming practices.
