There is limited research that provides practical insights on the extent to which communication has been integrated and executed.This book seeks to address 3 issues that include the communication capacity of the various actors involved in the improvement of water and sanitation infrastructure, the communication initiatives used in the improvement of water and sanitation infrastructure and how communication is used to develop synergy among the various actors in the improvement of water and sanitation infrastructure.A reading of this book will offer insights on how the communication capacity of the sponsors of the project is partly informed by their conceptualization of communication regarding the role of communication in the project, the residents and state actors lack interest and initiative in seeking information on the project among others. The book is intended to spur policy makers, development institutions and scholars in development communication to appreciate the need of integrating communication to development activities and the contribution of participatory communication to successful implementation of development programmes.
