This study was an attempt to investigate the effect of communicative grammar on the grammatical accuracy of students academic writing. Hence, the effect was examined through the pre-test and the post-test. The results of the pre-test showed that there was no significant difference in the grammar accuracy of the students writing between the control and experimental groups prior to the experiment. The results of the post-test in all cases showed that there was a significant difference between the control and experimental groups in grammar accuracy in students writing abilities (P0.05). The data obtained from the students questionnaire also indicated that students in the experimental group had a positive attitude towards communicative grammar in the context of writing. The results of the student and teacher interviews and classroom observations further substantiated this finding. On the basis of the findings of the study, it was concluded that communicative grammar in the context ofwriting could have a great value in improving students grammatical accuracy in their writing.
