Down syndrome (DS) is a congenital chromosomal disorder in which the amount of genetic material present in the cells is affected.the amount of genetic material present in the cells is affected, having extra copies, either partial or total, of genes of the chromosome. Children with DS present delayed psychomotor development, cognitive disability of variable degree and delayed language development, with a dissociation between comprehension and expression skills, presenting greater difficulties in expressing themselves, including the absence of words. In this research, children with DS with minimally verbal language were studied with the aim of grouping them into different types of communicative profiles, which are sets of communicative skills that favor interaction with the surrounding environment and help to achieve social adaptation(7)(8), these are grouped according to their linguistic, social, pragmatic, cognitive and sociodemographic characteristics.
