In the monograph the principles of formation and development of public centers in the historical part of the cities of Zarafshan oasis are studied. The study of the formation of community centers in the cities of the Zarafshan oasis is currently relevant in the implementation of science-based proposals in the reconstruction projects of cities. Unfortunately, the demolition of public centers that ensure the integrity of the ancient city, the very unsuccessful development of the old historic city, the complete disintegration of public centers with buildings of completely different styles built around the ensembles of public centers in past centuries significantly reduces the monumental impression of historical and architectural structures. This does not mean that the wide space between public centers should be reconstructed and undeveloped, but that it should be done with a full understanding of the complexity of the creative task, while maintaining the scale proportions and views of the newly built architectural monuments.
