Therefore the authors believe that for any sustainable form of development in Khan Younis refugee camp can be done thru community participation in the planning and implementation phases. This book examined the general acceptance of upgrading with reference to planning and designing tools for a sustainable camps improvement keeping the right of return in background of each steps. The book sees that Camp Improvement Strategies should called for adoption of the future urban planning, increasing the accommodation capacity of the built-up.

Professor. Badawy has 26 years extensive experience in design, urban planning projects and as professor in various national and international universities. He has published sixty- five technical papers on sustainable design in refereed journals and conferences of international repute and participated in several conferences, seminars and symposia.
