Here majority of people live in rural areas and their life is dependent on some valuable agricultural land which is their main earning source. But this land area is being decreasing and population is increasing day by day. The new pressure is being created on agricultural land area. In this study, Compact township approach has been taken as a study topic aiming to incorporate all the rural settlement in one place where all the urban facilities and service like water supply, electricity, gas, education would be provide and previous homestead area would be treated as agricultural land. In addition, their employment generation place would be near to the homestead area. By considering this option the study area has been selected P uti a Union, S hibpur, Narsingdi Dist rict. B y conducti n g a household s questionnaire survey, an additional official survey and some group discussion their existing social, physical, economic, environmental condition has been known.
