Life takes us down various roads, with many fellow travellers passing us along the way. Some will accompany us on our journey, helping or hindering our progress. At other times, when life seems like a lonely trek, trust that the great Helper has always been by our side, from the moment our journey began. Through eyes of faith, we recognize His presence guiding and protecting us, until our travelling days have slowed to completion. A delightful, relevant, and moving collection of writing, Companions on a Journey pays tribute to the impact of others on our lives and the role we play in blessing the lives of those around us. Grounding his work in faith yet not afraid to wrestle with life's painful questions, Leonard Mac Lellan has beautifully crafted his reflections and experiences into stories, prose and poetry. Topics ranging from the coronavirus pandemic to his longing for the Maritimes provide interest for readers from all walks of life. Perfect with a cup of tea (or beverage of your choice) on a quiet day, Companions on a Journey will touch the hearts of readers from East to West.
Autorenporträt
Len Mac Lellan is a husband to Maureen and a father, teacher, and storyteller. Raised in Judique, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and now raising his own children in Valleyview, Alberta, Mac Lellan has a strong sense of place and community. He takes great joy in his twenty-five years of teaching elementary students at St. Stephen's Catholic School, which is reflected in his being nominated for the 2006 Excellence in Teaching Award and receiving the Excellence in Catholic Education Award in 2012. When not singing in the church choir or regaling his children - Alexis, Allan, and Anna - with his own stories, he is busy collecting natural and oral history so he can preserve the stories of others. Proceeds from the sale of this book will be used to help pay for St. Rita's Gathering Centre in Valleyview, Alberta. Leonard is also the author of God Will Provide. This is his second book.
