The application of Panchagavya foliar spray (3%) in cowpea has increased the overall yield. Nitrobenzene application has improved the number of pods per plant, this is because Nitrobenzene 20% v/v is a flower stimulant and has the capability to induce flowering and thereby increasing the crop yield. However, the overall yield in cowpea is found higher in Panchagavya treatment rather than Nitrobenzene treatment. The pod length showed an increase of 2cm in panchagavya treatment with respect to control. The pod weight under Panchagavya application showed an increase of 3g with respect to other treatments. The number of seeds per pod under panchagavya treatment showed an increase of one seed per pod with respect to other treatment. The weight of 100 seeds under Panchagavya treatment showed a weight of 25.5g/100 seeds then other treatments. There is no increase in seed weight under nitrobenzene treatment with respect to control, which showed around 24.4g/100 seeds. The pod number per plant under Panchagavya treatment have higher number of pods (around 80 pods/plant) and nitrobenzene also showed a high number (around 75 pods/plant).
