Use of toxic and broad spectrum pesticides threatens the sustainability of vegetable production mainly due to development of resistance against pests, eliminating natural enemies, environmental disharmony. Plant based substances along with indigenous practices offer safe and alternative methods of pest management. Although alternative methods is not new and farmers. They remained largely untapped by high input agricultural concept ¿Green Revolution¿ and introduction of broad spectrum synthetic pesticides. Only since mid 80¿s that the use of alternative plant protection methods and natural pesticides have been more widely appreciated-although still not widely enough. Therefore, the present trail is initiated to fill up the lacuna for elucidating information on the development of sound and stable management practices to suppress the shoot and fruit borer (Earias vitella Fabricius), whitefly (Bemesia tabaci Gennadius), jassid (Amarasca biguttula biguttula Ishida) okra.
