It considers how recent crises in refugee protection have highlighted the strengths and limits of regional approaches to refugee protection and the importance of looking closely at the underlying norms, and the identities and activities of the relevant 'norm entrepreneurs' at the regional level. Susan Kneebone is a Professorial Fellow in the Faculty of Law at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Her recent research, funded by ARC grants, focuses on issues around governance of forced migration issues in South East Asia, including human trafficking and labour migration. She is the author of numerous books and articles, including many on the Bali Process and ASEAN processes.
