Yoga is one of those principles covering physical processes for maintaining human body in proper order and reinstating disorder to some extent also. In general concept, Ayurved is considered to cover curing of diseases by medicines and yoga is considered to cover different ways of physical exercise necessary for keeping the body healthy and active. Thus Ayurved and Yoga both are believed to be excellent independently.This book focuses on a combined approach of Ayurveda and Yoga, for treatment of Amlaka diseases (just like gastritis). The course of treatment is based on use of a medicine used is made of Emblica officinalis (Indian Gooseberry) by specific process in conjunction with Shankhprakshalan (a Yogic karma). Shankhprakshalan is a cleansing process performed in the morning. In this technique patient drinks lukewarm saline water and performs series of four simple asanas viz. Urdhva Hastasan, Kati Chakrasan, Udarkarsanasan and Tiryak Bhujangasan.

Dr. Shalinee Kumari Mishra has completed M.D. (Ayu) in 2012 and Ph.D. (Ayu) in 2016 from National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur (Under AYUSH. Govt. of India). Presently she is working as Assistant Professor, Department of Swasthavritta, IPGT&RA, GAU, Jamnagar, India. She is the author of several articles published in reputed international journals.
