A research work entitled: "Comparative study on waste management: A case study of Ruliba clays and Shyogwe sector traditional brickyards of Rwanda," was carried out in Rwandan traditional brickyards located in Shyogwe sector and in full industrial brickyard known as Ruliba clays. The brick sector is having several impacts on the environment from the clay excavation which has an impact on soil use, to the brick firing which emits the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. In addition to that the workers in this sector are exposed to various hazards due to existing working conditions. During this research, the researcher interviewed 96 people working in this sector and the information gathered was compiled and analyzed using Microsoft Excel. The main objective was to investigate health and safety status and environmental risks in traditional brickyards, and full industrial brickyard.
