Fitness is the combined results of the coordinated exertion of physical, physiological and psychological functions. Genetic factors play a major in a person's performance capacity. It appears that up to 70 percent of an individual's maximal force, power or capacity is a matter of genetical factors. Popular thinking still lags behind the genetic revolution. Genetically linked, highly heritable characteristics such as skeletal structure, the distribution of muscle fiber types, reflex capabilities, metabolic efficiency, lung capacity, and the ability to use energy more efficiently are not evenly distributed among populations. These differences might have occurred due to the differences in struggle for existence.Irrespective of race, sect, cast and creed humans require both aerobic and anaerobic fitness with a variation based on their life style. Though the current generation led almost similar life style there may be differences in their physical, physiological and psychological variables due to their ancestral habits, geographical location, food habits etc. Similarly rural and urban area students need a combination of aerobic and anaerobic fitness.
