This work shows a comparison of teaching methodologies in volleyball: SmashBall and Minivoley, belonging to an innovative and traditional methodology respectively. For this purpose, the recording of 4x4 matches of both methodologies was carried out with two groups that had been working with these methodologies for at least 3 months.The main objective of the study is to analyze the technical-tactical differences in the variables of the volleyball spike; the most striking action and the one that creates the most pleasure in this sport.The statistical analysis shows that there are significant differences in the tactical variables of the spiking between both methodologies in favor of SmashBall, being key the interpretation of the role of the spiker by the students. As for the technical variables, the results are not statistically significant, but they show a higher quality in the SmashBall methodology compared to Minivoley. It is proposed that the application of both methodologies together to obtain better results in the teaching, development and adherence to volleyball.
