Produktbeschreibung
Accidental marine oil pollution, with its disastrous ecological consequences, is still today one of the main sources of concern for the marine environment and the many activities generated by the sea. The repair of the damage resulting from these ecological disasters is all the more complex. This book aims to provide a succinct and analytical presentation of the international regime for compensation for marine oil pollution damage as based on the conventional CLC/IMO system. In addition to its critical and constructive approach, it is written in a simple style that is accessible not only to victims of oil spills but also to all the actors involved in the compensation circuit for these victims. All the determining elements of the above-mentioned compensation system are meticulously analysed and discussed, both in terms of substance and process, whether the compensation is provided by the owner of the polluting vessel or the complementary compensation provided by the IOPC Funds.
