The book is comprehensive and includes a mechanistic approach to synthetic compounds and the identification of organic molecules through spectroscopy, which added an advantage for teachers and students. The author is well qualified for the task, having 40 years of teaching and research experience. This book covers the entire area of practical organic chemistry, including synthesis, mechanism, isolation of natural products, separation techniques, and especially identification of spectral analysis of organic compounds and their properties. Graduate students and others interested in learning praticals beyond what they find in other textbooks will greet this book with applause.
Autorenporträt
Venkateswarlu Peesapati retired as a UGC Professor from Osmania and JNT University, Hyderabad. He received his BSc(Spl) & MSc from Andhra University and Ph.D. (1971) in Organic Chemistry under Prof. T R Seshadri, FRS, from Delhi University. His main research interests are in the area of medicinal, organic synthesis, and polymer chemistry. He has supervised 12 Ph.D. students and 100 MSc students. He has more than 90 peer-reviewed research publications to his credit. He has worked as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow and Senior Research Associate with various international universities such as the University of Florida, USA: the University of Edinburgh, and Strathclyde University, Scotland, UK. He served as an Assistant Professor at BITS-Pilani and also worked as a visiting Professor at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Educational and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad, in the department of medicinal chemistry. He has 40 years of teaching & research experience. In recognition of his experience and diverse range of educational activities, the Royal Society of Chemistry-London bestowed on him RSC-London "Inspirational Member Award" 2015 and "Award for Service in Chemical Sciences", 2017. 'Best Individual Award 2016: "Science for the Masses" by CSIR-IICT and VIBHA, India, 2016. He has been elected by the Royal Society of Chemistry-London (UK) as a Member Communities Board, 2018-2021
