It is desired that the message they translate remains faithful, linguistically correct and presented in a professional way. Nevertheless, many underestimate this hard task interpreters face. This work tries to show how many different skills and competences are necessary for the ability to interpret and tries to prove that mastering a foreign language, even on a very good level, does not suffice to be a good interpreter.
Autorenporträt
Monika Staubli studied English and German Studies at Lodz University in Poland and Conference Interpreting at Leipzig University in Germany. She then gained her second Master of Arts in European Business at Fribourg University. Now she is working in the field of communications in Switzerland, the country of multilingualism and cultural diversity.
