Sasakawa Africa Fund for Extension Education (SAFE) program has been initiated by Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA) and Winrock International Foundation to improve extension service delivery in Sub-Saharan Africa. The competency training received by the SAFE beneficiaries was observed to equip them to be competent enough for Agricultural Extension Service delivery. The beneficiaries were rated to have high competency level on the competency areas identified by their employers. In addition, SAFE beneficiaries were perceived to derive a lot of benefits upon completion of the program. The study also established high level of important and relevant to the competency of safe Agricultural Extension Service. Similarly, the demographics of the SAFE beneficiaries had significant influence on their job competency.
