The book is a detailed description of agricultural trade of Burundi, a land-locked developing country. Burundi is heavily relied on coffee and tea as main sources of foreign earnings. The author gives a glimpse of both trade structure and policies that have dominated and defined the economics of Burundi. The book combines normalized revealed comparative advantage and gravity model as analytical tools to gauge both the trade competitiveness and determinants of Burundi agricultural trade. Less competitive in selected products (coffee and tea),the study also found that a number of factors impede the flux of agricultural products of Burundi. It suggested the country to speed up trade reform implementation and also to follow prudent macroeconomic policies that will lead to sustainable trade growth.
