This study was conducted between January 2013 and July 2013 in FMU 09019, the main component of forest concession 1036 allocated to Cameroon United Forests (CUF) by provisional agreement No. 1335/CPE/MINEF/CAB of October 25, 2000, in the South Cameroon Region. Its objective was to evaluate the conformity of the legality of FMU 09019 with the requirements of legality grid 1 of the Cameroon VPA-FLEGT. The study was carried out through a documentary analysis, interviews with stakeholders and field visits. The main results obtained revealed the existence of the following irregularities: - Criteria 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the aforementioned grid are not compliant. All their verifiers were not validated during the assessment of the legal compliance of FMU 09019 within the General Directorate of the CUF;- of the fifty-three (53) applicable verifiers assessed, eleven (11) are non-compliant, as they were not verified in the physical form of legal documents required by the FLEGT legality verification process
