Provision of safe and effective blood transfusion services in Africa is plagued by a number of challenges; high incidence rate of transfusion transmissible infection, absence of a functional national blood transfusion services, reliance on commercial remunerated and family replacement donors, education, cultural and awareness related challenges associated with blood donation, transfusion of whole blood rather than components therapy are among the challenges facing blood donations.

El autor nació en la ciudad de Kwaifa, en el área de gobierno local de Suru, en el estado nigeriano de Kebbi. Estudió en la escuela primaria de Kwaifa y en la escuela secundaria Sultan Bello de la ciudad de Sokoto, donde terminó sus estudios en 2001. Es licenciado en Ciencias de Laboratorio Médico (Hematología) por la Universidad Ambrose ALLI de Ekpoma, Estado de Edo, Nigeria, y tiene un máster en Hematología por la UDU de SOKOTO, Nigeria.
