The aim of this study was to analyse the complications of biliary lithiasis in non-surgically treated patients. A quantitative, descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive approach study was conducted, analysing a total of 119 patients from the Hospital General del Norte de Guayaquil los Ceibos during the period June 1, 2017 to June 1, 2018.The data were analysed in Excel 2010 and SPSS 21 and the results were represented in tables and graphs. Of the total number of patients in the study (119), the predominant age group was middle adults (41-60 years) with 67% (80). The average age was 43.8 years, 68% (81) were female and the main clinical manifestations of biliary lithiasis were biliary colic (100%), fever (69%) and nausea/vomiting (55%). Diabetes mellitus (24%) was the most frequent associated disease. Eighteen percent developed complications, with acute (76%) and chronic (38%) cholecystitis being the most common.
