The decline in public funding for higher education and the consequent adoption of corporate practices by college administrators have produced a number of troubling repercussions, including the reconfiguration of students as consumers, the prioritizing of career training over critical thinking, and the casualisation of academic labor. This work examines what these trends could mean for the future of composition instruction.
