This book is very useful for the understanding of physical properties of Lime-stone in Saurashtra region, Gujarat state, India. The existing historical building reflects the strength and glory of limestone in building construction. The great monuments under roman architectures, china wall, Gizza s pyramids, etc. are the best construction practice of limestone. Buildings that constructed using lime-stones have high compressive strength and durability against foreign disturbance. Structural components of the buildings that built out of lime-stones also have multiple resistances such as resistance against heat and sound. Due to those resistances, those components can also act as insulator within certain part of the building. Lime-stones also provide aesthetic surfacing to brickwork. In term of workability and economy, the usage of lime-stones makes the whole building construction easier, faster and cheap. For that, it is not odd that everyone preferred usage of lime-stones for building construction. In reference to above context, to find out the compressive strength of lime-stone samples were collected from the different villages of Junagadh district in India.
