Mark McGinley was born in Glasgow, Scotland. After gaining a BSc in Physics, he entered the Royal Navy's Dartmouth College as a Naval Officer. He specialized as an engineering instructor and, after periods of training technicians in electronics, became the Lead Trainer in the Microprocessor Section of the Navy's Marine Engineering School, where he taught assembly language and computer science. After nine years in the Navy, Mark transitioned to the computer consultancy field. He holds several industry certifications, including CompTIA's Net+, Sec+, and Cyber Security Analyst+, Cisco's CCNA, and Microsoft's MCSE and MCT. He is currently part of Ian Neil's team, which trains US Forces Europe specifically in Security+ at a very high success rate and contracts for the British Army training server systems and CCNA networking. Mark lives in southern England with his wife Alison and their son Callum. He enjoys long walks in the countryside and is learning golf.
