This book presents a computer-aided system for die-design of die-casting dies with an aim to automate selection of optimal parting line for a die-casting part. A system has been developed which determines optimal parting line from different parting line options, for a die-casting part, on the basis of seven different criteria. The proposed system is coded using GUI of the MATLAB. The system is implemented on the case study parts and the results are presented. The results are validated by consulting the experts of the local die-casting industry.
