Such transition has fundamental impact on the way healthcare professionals communicate and coordinate their practices within and between healthcare organizations. Despite early promising developments, modeling this communication through computer systems has raised serious challenges that can undermine care providers safe practice if they are not addressed appropriately. This book evaluates the dynamics between healthcare communication and computerization. The focus is on the interactions that lead to communication problem and error, or predispose care providers to err in their practices.
