In this book the author researches on the development of the teaching-learning process of mathematics based on new methodologies and teaching strategies, such as conceptual maps, and new theories for meaningful learning of mathematics, namely Ausubel's theory of significant learning and Vergnaud's theory of conceptual fields. In this sense, to apply these new methodologies such as concept maps and achieve meaningful learning in the teaching of mathematics, it is important to recognize the students' difficulties, their causes and help them learn to learn mathematical knowledge (concepts and their definitions).
