Von 1982 bis 2002 hauptberuflich in der Wirtschaft tätig (Personal, Bildung, Management). Seit 2002 Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Weiterbildungsforschung und -management und Leiter des Zentrums für Human Resource Management an der Universität Koblenz-Landau. Gastprofessuren an den Universitäten Klagenfurt, Zürich, Innsbruck, Graz und Murmansk (Russland). Honorarprofessor an der Universität Bremen.
