The study investigated some constraints on students¿ effectiveness in practical skill acquisition in technical colleges in Kogi State. Descriptive survey was adopted in the design of the study. The population for the study comprised 286 final year Vocational III (VOC III) students and 46 teachers of VOC III students from the five (5) Government Technical Colleges in Kogi State. A sample size of 244 that comprised 198 students and 46 teachers of VOC III students was used for the study. Simple random sampling technique was employed in the selection of the students. But for the teachers all the 46 of the VOC III teachers were used. Four (4) research questions were answered with four (4) hypotheses tested at 0.05 level of significance. The instrument used for the study was a structured questionnaire developed by the researcher, titled Constraints on Students¿ Effectiveness in Practical Skill Acquisition Questionnaire to elicit responses from the respondents after being validated by the supervisor and three other experts and reliability tested through the use of Pearson Product Moment Correlation method to obtain a reliability coefficient of 0.92.
