By using biogas, the person in charge of domestic chores, mainly women, are not forced to go out to look for firewood for cooking, increasingly distant in the forest, nor depend on the supply of charcoal or kerosene with its usual problems of handling, scarcity and toxicity. Biogas does not generate any unpleasant odors that could affect people or harm the environment, since the manure that constitutes one of the main waste products from which this fuel is obtained is not used for cooking.
