This project examined the state of furniture industry and trade in Uganda. The overall goal was to benchmark changes in consumer preferences, emerging consumer segments and estimation of the market share for the local furniture industry so as to improve market targeting and industry positioning which are important aspects in managing stiff competition from furniture imports.

Simon Kizito has a BSc. and MSc. in Forest Products Technology(Makerere University) and is currently Lecturer of Forest Products Economics and Marketing, in the Department of Forest Products Engineering,Makerere University, Kampala Uganda. He is currently working on value addition on Wood and Agricultural Wastes for fuel briquette production.
