The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) requires the health team to be in constant contact with patients, who are in a state of vulnerability and can acquire different types of infections, with the hands of professionals being one of the greatest means for microorganisms to be transmitted. In this way, it was possible to find some contact prevention measures adopted in the ICU, with hand washing and hygiene being the main measure. The others were the use of sterile gloves, masks, goggles and aprons. Most professionals, both physical therapists and doctors and nurses, do not properly prevent themselves when maintaining contact with the patient.
