Mediterranean; is in an important geographical location, where important trade routes between Europe-Asia and North America-Asia are passing. Eastern Mediterranean has the highest transshipment rate in the world. Cyprus and the Crete ports, which are geographically well located in the middle of the Eastern Mediterranean, will have the chance for becoming regional container transshipment hub ports in the near future.
