The protection of human rights and democracy are fundamental to an open and just society. It is therefore necessary to convince mankind that the dignity of the individual must be preserved, and that all people have equal rights. Democracy can only function if political power is not abused to suppress differences in opinion or lifestyle - we are only free if we recognize and honor the diversity of human life. Conformity and intolerance destroy free thought, and therefore creativity. Matthias Claudius says: "Freedom ist that you can do anything that does not harm another." This is the essence of tolerance, freedom and freedom of expression. As educators, our honorable mission is to raise children and young people according to the principle attributed to Voltaire: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." To accept the reality, "every person in the world has an unconditional right to a humane life", will free mankind from the cruelties of war which were led to this day because they were affected by prejudice and injustice, and also from the suffering caused by people only perceiving the differences in their fellow man, and give us freedom.
