This study tries to investigate the effect of content familiarity, gender-oriented content familiarity and gender differences to apprehend reading texts among the preliminary year (PYP) students at the Northern Border University (NBU) using neutral and non - neutral texts. The study adopts a quantitative analysis using T-test.
