Continuing teacher training is a relevant and current issue when it comes to building identity and improving teaching performance. However, in relation to Physical Education, especially in Early Childhood Education, it is still not widespread. This study seeks to understand and analyze Continuing Education and its contributions to the development of the pedagogical work of Physical Education teachers in Early Childhood Education in the Florianópolis Municipal Education Network. Data was collected through document analysis and observation, as well as a questionnaire and focus group. From the content analysis, the results converged on the positive contributions that the Continuing Education moments have been providing to their teachers, who perceive their importance, both for their professional and personal growth, and are satisfied with the results. However, it can be seen that the educators want proposals that are more contextualized to their daily practices, as well as asking for greater motivation and recognition, an increase in the frequency of meetings and variability in the themes and methodologies covered.
