The book covers two research studies dealing with contrastive grammar of both Arabic as well as English languages. The main purpose of these studies is to pin point the main differences in using the constructions under study ( including English dangling modifiers compared with Arabic descrtive clauses // the second study deals with emphasis constructiins in both English and Arabic). The third study is an attempt to study the acquisition order of epistemic and deontic modalities of English by Iraqi learners learning English as a foreign language.
