Monitoring practices helps to track the project performance on the project status. The objective of this research was to find out how monitoring practices contribute on NGOs performance in humanitarian emergency responses. The study reviewed the related literature for better understanding the study subject, both primary data and secondary data were collected and analyzed. A descriptive research design was used. The results revealed that practices of monitoring planning, tools and techniques contributes to the NGOs performance. Monitoring planning practices are well applicable in SCI as represented by 89%, which lead to the achievement of project objectives by 98%. Donors and stakeholders review and analysis the plans before implementation 89%. The monitoring tools are used and ensure that the quality of activities meets a basic standard in organization and in standardizing 86%. The monitoring techniques help the SCI to implement the activities as planned effectively 87%. There isa correlation between dependent and independent variable. The correlation between monitoring practices and project performance was the most significant, r = 0.765, P 0.01.
