The cassava sector is exploited by more than 50% of Congolese farmers. It is a sector that contributes to the rural economy and to food security. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the great challenge is that the cassava sector as a whole suffers from structural constraints, the low level of production and processing technologies, difficult access to markets, inaccessibility to agricultural credits, etc. If this sector benefited from adequate subsidies and supervision, it would make a significant contribution to GDP.
