Not a day goes by without scientists alerting us to the dangers of climate disruption on the ecosystem, the weather, the quality and quantity of resources, public health and economic growth. The ecological transition operates at all levels to provide a global solution to the threats to our planet caused by an obsolete economic model. It is a question of rethinking our ways of consuming, producing, or even living together in a sustainable development approach in order to provide an effective and lasting response to the major environmental challenges of our century. Higher education and universities have an essential role to play in the face of current societal and environmental challenges through the production and dissemination of new knowledge as well as through the training of students so that the knowledge and skills acquired during training enable learners to be, tomorrow, committed and reflective professionals of the "sustainable transitions" of which they will be the actors.
