This study was carried out under the auspices of NOWEFOR from January- November 2014. The main objective was to assess the socioeconomic contributions of NOWEFOR to farmers through its organized Unions of Common Initiative Groups. To attain these objectives, documents were reviewed at NOWEFOR and Dschang University library. Also samples of 100 farmers were interviewed using a semi structured questionnaires, 20 leaders were interviewed using an interview guide and direct observations were made. Following our interview with members in the field, the study recommends that aid donors and NOWEFOR should provide aid on-time and in accordance with farming calendar and income generating activities for the federation. NOWEFOR should put in place an animal feed production unit, a cocoa farm and a multipurpose input shop for sustainability. The purpose of this work is for sharing knowledge and changing lives among people in the rural area.

Kenette Fru Mbangari is an Ingenieur Agronome-ES and a holder of a MSc. degree in Integraterd rural development and agricultural extension from the faculty of agronomy and agricultural sciences of the University of Dschang-Cameroon. He is currently a PhD fellow in the same University. Married with 3 children.
