This paper presents a study on controllership, with the aim of defining a project to implement the controllership area in medium-sized companies, in order to demonstrate its importance for better business management, optimize performance and perpetuate its existence. The work demonstrates that in order to achieve this level of competitiveness, organizations need the controllership area to act strategically, seeking to introduce indicators to monitor results and verify their adherence to the long-term strategic plan, sharing information with employees and contributing to synergy in achieving objectives. This work presents the concepts of controllership, the controller's functions, the structuring of the controllership area and the information system, the way in which controllership operates in the strategic, execution and control areas. This work is aimed at senior management professionals in accounting, administrative and financial areas.
