The African continent, throughout its history, has been subject to foreign domination. It is a territory that has opened up to the world through violence. From the slave trade, through colonization, independence and finally diplomatic relations.The 1960s are considered as the starting point for the liberation of the continent in general. A diplomatic policy was then established by the former metropolis to distinguish between a total break and an amicable break in its former colonies. Understanding this divergent political system has been the guideline for the analysis of the current diplomatic situation of France in West Africa.
