There are many methods that are being invented for isolation and purification of ovalbumin form chicken egg white. Most of them are based on chromatographic techniques i.e. a metal affinity chromatography or ion exchange chromatography. The principle limitation of these methods is that chromatography is an expensive technique and the yields obtained do no justify commercialization. Hence, in this book we have tried to find a method which can be used as a replacement for chromatography and also is less complex with marked accuracy. The standard purification procedures for ovalbumin are labor intensive and difficult to mechanize due to which large-scale production of pure Ovalbumin was not feasible. The novelty of the experiments lied in the device used for dialysis i.e. Small Wonder Lyzer , which is an easy to use patentable membrane dialyzer. With Small Wonder Lyzer which do not need any threads, adhesives or ultrasonic welding for membrane attachment dialysis can be done easily.
