Livestock and livelihoods are inseparable for the farmers in most parts of our country. Livestock formed a major component of poverty alleviation strategy of the government of India. Another attractive feature of livestock sector in the country is significant employment and income generated by this activity accrues to women which has its own social gains. In India, several studies, both official as well as non-official have been undertaken from time to time with special reference to banking sector at the national level however, in a vast country live India with rural and institute variations, region-specific, micro-level studies are needed. The present published work has made a modest attemptto close the research sap in this area of in these contexts an attempt has been mode in the study to examine.
