Cooperative learning enhances students' learning and social skills. Cooperative Learning is the instructional use of small groups wherein students work together to maximize their own and each others learning. The students in each team are responsible not only for learning the material being taught, but also for helping their teammates learn (Johnson & Johnson, 1990). It is also instruction that involves people working in teams to accomplish a common goal, under conditions that involve both positive interdependence (all members must cooperate to complete the task) and individual and group accountability (each member is accountable for the complete final outcome) (Slavin, 1991)
