Kathy McPike was born and raised in the city of Chicago. At the age of 23, she joined to the army in hopes of learning a trade. There she became a diesel mechanic, and met many interesting people who shared their experiences with her. After leaving active duty to start a family, she continued her military career in the army reserves. She was eventually hired as a diesel mechanic for a worldwide shipping company and worked her way up into management. She started writing as a way to have fun and be creative, and now would like to share her creativity.
