Regular participation in physical activity in youth can promote the development of fitness and motor abilities and support the development of a physically active lifestyle, thus contributing to good health. Physical education should be the primary context for this aim, but many authors claim that the time spent in physical education is not enough to promote physical fitness for health and/or the quality of the contents is too poor to adequately promote coordinative development. Therefore, this book tends to provide a new approach to physical education in order to improve schoolchildren's coordinative abilities, physical fitness and health and support the development of a positive psycho-social profile. In fact, a multi- sports physical education intervention was evaluated as effective in promoting positive physical and psychological effects in youths. Therefore, physical educators and other practitioners could adopt this kind of physical education approach in structuring their physical education classes.
